Flowers for Justyna

SD 3The nicest thing about making cards is when the recipient really loves the card and appreciates that you made it just for them.

These cards are two of those, Justyna is a lovely women who made me feel very welcome at my new job, so for her birthday  I made her this blue poppy card. The flowers are from Sheena Douglass Victorian Floral stamp and die sets, this one is the Poppy set. The card, sentiment and the flowers was coloured using Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. After shaping a little Midnight Blue Stickles in the middle of the flowers and a spray of Pearl Diamond Spray & Sparkle and they were ready to assemble and pop on the card. For the leaves I used Mowed Lawn and Evergreen Bough. The Happy Birthday was cut using a Die’sire die, they have a great range of new word dies out have a look here, they are so useful and cut beautifully.

The second card was ordered by my daughter Laura. She so loved her birthday card that I made her she wanted one for her friends 30th birthday. ( the card I made for her is in a previous post Lillies For Laura )

SD 1For this card I used the Anemone set and coloured using Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolour Paints in Yellow Sun, Purple Violet,Frosted Mallow and Rose Hue. The leaves are cut from green card with a little paint to add shimmer. The background was embossed with an Embossalicious folder.  I love using these Die and Stamp sets from Sheena they make such beautiful flowers that these have become firm favourite.
