Here’s my take on Tim Holtz’s July tag. As I’m English it had to be different but I think I’ve followed along with the concept. Take a look at his blog to see not only his, but loads of other lovely tags.
Here is the card I made for my sister, as purple is her favourite colour I used Shaded Lilac Distress Ink to colour the edge of the white card blank and the embossed card, and Purple Pearl Dazzling Metallics from DecoArt to colour everything else ! The embossing folder I used is from Crafters Companion Textures Collection, “Hession”, such a useful folder, simple but can be used on any project. The flowers are cut and stamped using Sheena Douglass Victorian Florals, Sweet William. It’s much easier to die cut the flower first and then ink the stamp and place the flower onto the stamp. After painting with the Purple Pearl, I shaped the flowers a little to add dimension and sprayed with Pearl Diamond Spray & Sparkle. The leaves I coloured with Spectrum Noirs,DG2 and DG3 again shaping to add dimension. The swirl is a chipboard shape from Dusty Attic called Decorative Frame #1, painted with gesso then Purple Pearl. To finish I added a die cut 60 ( an old sizzix set of dies ) and a happy birthday from the new range from Die’sire. I hope you like it, Sue did 🙂
I’ve entered this card in Cute Card Thursday Challenge 381,Ladies Only
Life for this bunting started out as boring old white work shirts for my OH. I used pinkin shears to cut out so that I wouldn’t have to hem 🙂 Using Stazon ink I stamped butterflies and fairies and left them to soak in the three shades of dye I had chosen, Intense Violet, Bahama Blue and Flamingo Pink from Dylon. After machine stiching backs and fronts together, I hand stitched jute ribbon from docrafts to join it all together and to make the bows. The letters add a lovely bit of sparkle which caught the light when hung over the dance floor at my sisters party.
So my sisters 60th party is over, she had a fabulous time with her friends and family, and loved all the decorations, food and cake made by myself, my two eldest daughters and her daughter in law. My home has emerged from the craft making that took over for the last two weeks, I now have time to share with you what I have been up to. So today I will share the picture holding jars, I made eight one for each table.
I made five of the sewing themed jars and three flower jars using Sheena Douglass Stamps. I also made three balloon weight jars. I thought of this after adding some sand to the table decorations to prevent them from being knocked over. I’ve added lots of pictures…. I hope you like them.
