Today I’m showing two cards made in the same way but using different products which gave different looks.
I started by taping the white area with low tack tape so that I had a white border. The card on the left was done by sprinkling Brusho’s and spritzing with water to activate them. Lots of water and blotting with kitchen paper to get the colours to blend. I dryed it with a heat gun and then Stamped the Visible Image sentiment stamp with black Archival. I used a black pen to outline the coloured area’s.
For the card on the right I used Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Mica Pigments and spritzed with a mixture of water and Docrafts Spritzing Ink in white. The bottle was “empty” so i added water and it turned white! It has a pearl shine to it so a total bonus:) I used the same stamp but this time used Distress ink, Aged Mahogany to stamp with and the same colour of Distress Marker to outline. Lastly I added a little acylic heart. I hope you like these cards and try out the technique.
I’m entering these cards in Less Is More Challenge –Dreams One Layer
I used fossalized amber, abandoned coral and salty ocean distress inks to colour the background, and brushed pewter spray to add the splatters. Inkognito Flower by Visible Image was stamped and heat embossed with black and a little silver for the center of the flower. Matting onto black finishes this card off. A quick and easy card, I hope you like it.
I was playing with my Distress stains and made the background for this card, it was such a delicate colour I thought a heart would suit…. this one is called Heart INKognito and is by Visible Image. I heat embossed the heart and the sentiment also from Visible Image, the set is called sunshine set. I matted this onto some embossed silver mirror card, embossing mirror card makes it a little more gentle ? try it and let me know what you think. The patterned paper was from my stash which I used to cover the card blank, and also to cut a band using part of a bow die set by Sue Wilson from Creative Expression. I added a little metal heart charm and some pink liquid pearls to finish. I hope you like it.
A fun card today using Visible Image’s “Splat” stamp.
The colours I used are Mermaid Lagoon, Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio, (all Distress Inks) On a piece of white card I randomly stamped the different splats in all four colours. Mounting this onto black card helps the colours to “pop”. I used some skinny black ribbon threaded through a die cut shape and attached on the back using red liner tape. The sentiment is also from Visible Image called “Chandelier set” which I inked up using a peice of sponge so I could add the different colours. A little blending onto the edges of a card blank again using all four colours completes this quick and easy card.
Page one of my new art journal 🙂
I gave the page a coat of gesso and when dry used some texture paste and a script stencil. Next I added some music tissue paper and sprayed… painted… blobbed… and then spritzed with water, tipping the page and let it all mingle! (Distress paint and sprays). When all was dry I used Gelato’s for the circles.
The tiny stamped butterflies are stamps by Card-io.
To compliment the sentiment, Karma – what goes around comes around, from Visible Image, I used String Frames from Dusty Attic which were given a coat of gesso then coloured with Gelato’s.
On the largest of the frames I wound some metallic embroidery thread around and attached all three frames to the page. I remove the lid from Picket Fence Distress Spray and flicked onto my page.
The three large butterflies, also from Visible Image, were stamped onto tissue paper coloured with Distress inks and sprayed with Pearl Diamond Spray and Sparkle. Lastly I added some black glitter glue to the “body” of the butterfly.
A clean and simple card today but one I really like for the bright colours, it really does make me smile 🙂 I used snippets of white and yellow card to punch the butterflies, I actually have loads in a pot, I can’t bear to throw out “bits” so every scrap of card I cut out butterflies or hearts or stars or flowers and put them in pots ready to use, the pots are getting fuller !!
But back to this card…. I coloured the white butterflies green and purple to fit with the challenge I had in mind, I shaped the wings on the butterflies and played arround with positioning until I was happy and glued them down. I stamped the sentiment ,with Memento Grape Jelly. The stamp is from Visible Image Make Me Smile Set.
